The Dermafile® is a safe, advanced, and cost effective microdermabrasion alternative. Microdermabrasion is a process that sprays microcrystals across the skin’s surface, removing the top layer of dead skin. Technicians use a high-powered machine to spray the microcrystals, and patients with sensitive skin may find it very uncomfortable. If you have been considering microdermabrasion to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, freshen up your complexion or reduce age spots, you should consider another skin resurfacing procedure known as the Dermafile®.
The Dermafile® – Diamonds are a girl’s best friend!
Exfoliating has been recognized by aestheticians as one of the most important steps in a regular skin care routine. This is an upgrade to any facial service. Proper exfoliation removes dead skin cells and polishes skin to keep it smooth and free from fine lines. As effective as microdermabrasion, the Dermafile® treatment exfoliates dead skin and stimulates collagen production.
The Dermafile® is a patented skin polishing and resurfacing tool made of stainless steel and finely crushed genuine diamonds that is crystal free! The diamond treatment serves to gently and carefully remove the outermost layer of skin, with less damage and aftercare than all other procedures. The diamond wand is used to gently slough as it passed over your skin to ensure the area being treated is removed of damaged or discolored layers of unwanted skin, leaving velvety smooth, fresh, rejuvenated skin. Our technicians can individually focus on hotspots of your skin particularly heavy in pigmentation or deeper wrinkles for a customized treatment.
The Dermafile® is more than an effective alternative that can make your skin look a few years younger and much more beautiful, achieving the same effects as microdermabrasion in a more cost-effective, and what is more important, safer way.
Key Benefits of the Dermafile® Exfoliation
The Dermafile® can be combined with light chemical peels to further enhance results. It is considered to be safe on all areas of the body, and the technician may choose to use a more coarse grit size to polish the knees, hands, elbows or feet. It is a very effective tool for treating aging and sun damaged skin, scars, acne scarring, pigmentation, stretch marks, fine lines and enlarged and clogged pores.

How long is the Dermafile® Facial treatment?
The entire Dermafile® facial treatment should take no more than an hour. Depending on the area being treated, as well as the level of the skin damage, the procedure usually takes between 30 and 45 minutes. This treatment may be repeated once a week for 4 to 6 weeks. After that, use it every 2 months in order to maintain the desired results and the bright glow of your skin.
Patients can combine it with other treatments for even better results. Technicians may administer a chemical peel after your treatment to further enhance the results, as this peel will have a fresh layer of skin to be placed on.
Can it be tailored to me?
The Dermafile® is safe to use on most every skin type. However, it is preferred not to use on broken skin, inflamed skin, rosecea, moles or any abnormal skin condition.
There are no known side effects and no prolonged downtime after the treatment. There is a small window of heightened skin sensitivity after your treatment, the longest lasting 48 hours.
Discontinue Alpha-Hydroxy Acids, Retin-A, and Salicylic Acids a few days prior to using the Dermafile® and for 3 days after. Always use a good SPF 30 sunblock whenever you are exfoliating the skin. Be sure to use skin care products made for your skin type.
