PRP Treatment for Hair Loss

PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, is one of the newest treatments for hair restoration. It is non-surgical approach, scientifically proven, for those affected by hair thinning or hair loss who require stimulation of hair follicle. PRP contains essential proteins and growth factors from your own blood that stimulates natural hair growth. It does not require daily pills or chemical lotions or foams.

The procedure involves drawing out one’s own blood and using a special centrifuge to collect plasma with platelets in the tube. The Platelet Rich Plasma has growth factors and cells stimulating nutrients, that rejuvenate the hair follicles and promote growth. The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected subcutaneously into the scalp using a very small needle. This will signal the body to send repairing cells (platelets) and nutrients (plasma) in the hair loss region.

When can I Expect to See Results of PRP Therapy?

Growth factors take a long time to stimulate the hair follicles completely. The hair growth will start to become visible about 3 months after the treatment. Usually about 8 months is required to see any great benefits. Helping to restore one’s confidence, the end result is a fuller, thicker and healthier looking hair.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

One treatment per month is recommended for the first four months.
